It’s actually my PC (again). There are 2 problems which are plaguing me at the moment.
Firstly, my graphics card, is getting the heebee-jeebees again. It gives out from time to time, and to fix it, I need to yank it out and back again. Not actually a big problem, but a problem nevertheless. I’m suspecting that either the entire 6600GT 256MB range from XFX is jinxed/flawed, or my PC enjoys killing them. I’ve exchanged 2 already, under warranty, and well, I have a feeling that a third one is on its way. Soon, the 3 year warranty period will be over, and I won’t be able to exchange it. What I’m hoping for, is that they don’t have any more 6600GTs and they give me a more stable and long-lasting card, like a 8600GT or a 9600GT. Hehe.
Anyway, the other reason I might make an excursion to Nehru Place, is that I have only around 75 MB of space left on my hard drive. Yup, I’ve completely topped it. There’s some space on the Ubuntu partition, but since I can’t access it from Windows, it’s pretty much useless. I’m aiming for a 320GB hard drive, for around Rs. 3,500.
Oh, before I forget, I remember taking apart my PC, to extract the hard drive. I had to do this, because some important data was needed, and the graphics card was busy napping. I’ve always noticed that my PC refers to the hard drive with a serial number – HDT722516DLA380. Well…I remember asking for a Seagate 160GB SATA hard drive, when I bought the PC. Actually, I didn’t assemble it, the guys at the store assembled it for me. So, I never actually got to see the hard drive, till that day. And I found that I had been sold a Hitachi Deskstar. Hence the HD at the beginning of the serial number. It felt weird to have used the PC for more than 2 and a half years, and not know that.
