Incommunicado

At least, in this day and age, going of the ‘grid’ a.k.a. the brainchild of the guy who was named TIME Person of the Year a.k.a. the single biggest drain of time and productivity on this planet a.k.a. Facebook, is synonymous with being incommunicado, for all intents and purposes.

By the way, if you wandered onto this page after clicking a link on FB, that’s because the blog’s fan page will continue to update both my wall and its own wall with blog posts as and when I release them.

Anyway, after a bit of introspection, I realized that a good part of my time was being wasted pressing F5 on my browser’s FB tab. And since the new year is a time some life-changing decisions are often made (the life of these decisions is subject to much public debate, but that’s not my point), I decided that I’d go off FB for a couple of months. I was even considering deactivating the account, but decided against it because in the end, FB is also an effective means of communication. So, I enabled e-mail notifications for FB messages (and by the way, I’ve also set up a e-mail filter to automatically delete all messages which contain the term ‘SAX.’, and all its variants. The ones this was aimed at know who they are)

Surprisingly, its not that tough to get off FB. Some people might liken it to a detox program, but in my opinion, that’s a bit of an overstatement. And I might drop in once in a week just to look around, but nothing much. This is primarily till around March, by which time, most of the pressure will be off, and I’ll have (hopefully good) news to share with all my friends.

In other news, Mom gifted Dad a Nokia E72, which is quite an upgrade, considering that he was using a 6020 before that. I’ve attached the images for comparison purposes.

Also, tomorrow will mark the beginning of Pre-Boards 2 : Return of the Migraine. Although termed as insignificant by some, these will be crucial in determining whether I can get into the top universities in the US. They do not give a rat’s ass about what happens in my boards…

Best of luck to any DPSVK 12thee reading this. Now switch off your computer and go study some  computer science /biology/economics/geography.

P.S. Here are the links to the date sheet and seating plan for the second round of pre-boards. No idea why there’s a distinct blue tinge to the scans…

  1. Apparently, you didn’t think of setting up a comment filter.
Even I’ve left FB since 1/1/11, now I realise how much time I ACTUALLY have.
And last but not the least. SAX. :-P

  2. You do realise that this does not affect me in the least right?
